Pairing: Robert Lang/Jiri Fischer (Chicago Blackhawks/Detroit Red Wings)
Disclaimers: Sadly, this isn't true, nor are they mine. I don’t own them, though they could own me if they really wanted to. I just like to torture them, and then cuddle them afterwards.
Author‘s Note: Blame [livejournal.com profile] deux. She's the one that encouraged me.
Feedback: Is loved like a goal made by Nikky Zherdev. Or a game won by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

As Robert sits on the couch, curled around Jiri, he can't help but wonder what changed. He knows what changed with Jiri; probably more than most. And really, maybe he should be wondering about the things that didn't change. Like the way Jiri still curls immediately into Robert, and how his hands still know the exact way to notch at the younger player's hips to bring him just that little bit closer, and how Jiri doesn't resist when he does this.

And how, even after three years, he still knows how to kiss Jiri just so, so that he gets small noises and not-so-small shivers from him, and how Jiri can do the exact same thing to him, like there was never a three-year gap or other people; only on Robert's part, Jiri never did anything after his incident, for fear of what it would do to his already fragile heart. Or that's what he tried to tell himself.

Robert knows this, knows what holds Jiri back, but it still doesn't stop him from thumbing over Jiri's bottom lip, already kiss swollen, before leaning down to cover the younger player's mouth with his own again.

And that's another thing that didn't change. Robert never could stop himself from doing things he shouldn't.

Despite my icon choice, I really loved this. Even if it did have Robert Lang in it. The writing and the FISCH made up for it. ;D Very nice.

The last line just hits you, but it's a gentle suckerpunch, kind of like this whole ficlet. I really love the mood you've set up, Langer's pensiveness. Just ... quiet and lovely but with a hint of something else underneath it. :D

Yeah, it occurred to me that this would work nicely as part of a larger portrait of this pairing, or loosely connected vignettes or something like that. :))

I really liked this. Short, sweet, tender, but a bit angsty. Very lovely!

And that Jose icon from our paper! Isn't he just sexy with his pink sweater and ink?
