summary: Tommy's smile is older. That's why it predeceased him.


He had such a beautiful, illuminating smile, but it was a casualty of everything that happened. Eroded, if wind were pain and rain was anger and time was stress -- and time was stress.

He thinks it's lost to history, and he never believes I can see it, but I can. Even today, in my mind's eye, I can.

"I see it. I do. I see it," I tell him, with his head pressed in between my hands.
And sometimes, when I kiss him, when neither of us is able to see at all...

I can feel it.

aw thanks. I'm terribly fond of these decrepit old geezers, so that anybody who wants to read about them is great, and liking it only makes it better. :)
