Title: Obsolescent
Rating: G--bah, not even a curse word
Pairing: Steve Yzerman/Brendan Shanahan
Disclaimer: Vena + keyboard = fiction
Word Count: 100
A/N: I seem to be stuck in a Stevie/Bren funk. It's the only hockey slash in my brain right now.
Go figure.
This drabble could maybe go with "Mending Fences". Maybe.
......................................
(Brendan's POV)
I'd watch him with them, always praying it would be me. Hoping, dreaming, wanting him so badly it hurt. And then out of the blue, there he was, filling me with the most inarticulate, unreasonable, romantic dreams I ever had. With him I experienced the ecstasy, the sorrow of memory--all that was betrayed, lost, refined, diminished, the person I never was, the risks I'd never taken, the precise emotional content of every broken promise.
They say everyone who passes through your life brings a message, teaches something. He taught me pain. He taught me despair.
He taught me love.

I love it! You always write so much into so little.
And hey- having YzerShan on the brain is not all that bad! LOL.
