i love how much of savvy is visible here, his tendencies to use cliches as crutches, the occasional vacancies caught on camera (as you reference in your notes at the beginning). i love the idea that what's missing is sobotka; when he's back all's right in the world. that's just gorgeous.
the tone here is really poignant and so key to the story. word choice, pacing, all of it creates that foggy atmosphere - i love Dumb questions. Dumb answers. They go away happy. Just go away. - and that it can be resolved so easily - all he needs is sobotka - makes my little heart sing.
