TITLE: More Than Fifty

1. Comfort
No one would ever believe the sweet tenderness of strong arms surrounding him, was all that Todd needed to make it all okay, and it didn't bother him one way or the other if anyone ever did, so long as Chris was right there with him.
2. Kiss
It was more than the kiss, more than his hand on Todd's ass, pulling him tighter, more than his body pressing in close to Todd's, that made him react the way he did, but when Chris, slammed him back to the wall to deepen the kiss all Todd could do was hold on and focus on staying upright.
3. Soft
Chris couldn't think of a better sight than Todd sitting at the foot of his son's bed and reading him a story, especially when he used voices for all the characters and he could hear his son's laughter ring bright and clear, though he'd not admit it to just anyone, his heart always melted just a little more.

The sting of Chris's hand on an already bruised part of his ass, made Todd scream, but it was always for more, there wasn't anything hard enough to satisfy the hunger he felt, not until Chris slammed into him and fucked him at the same time, and then they both screamed.

All it took was one innocent remark about the creaminess of the mashed potatoes for everything to be swept onto the floor, and Chris to be looking at the kitchen upside down, while he was soundly fucked over the table.

The raindrops the wind sometimes blew in to them on the deck, did nothing to quell the fire between them, in fact they barely noticed it at all, as Todd ground down to Chris, kissing him deeper and harder.

Todd liked to hold a soft square of milk chocolate in his mouth until it got melty and sticky, then just every so slightly he'd lick his bottom lip, making sure Chris could see, it never took more than one time doing it for him to get pounced.

Their shoulders brushed as they rode from the eighteenth hole back to the clubhouse, and Chris tipped his head forward, pressing a soft kiss to Todd's jaw, for them, right in that moment, life was perfect.

Neither of them ever went anywhere without their phone, but their kids aside they'd never been as dependant on it as they were right now.

It wasn't just the kisses, or the nip of Chris's teeth even, or even the soft words whispered against his ear that made Todd's knees threaten to buckle, it was the combination of them all.

When the kids were home, and they had to be quieter, sometimes the only thing Chris could do was whispers Todd's name over and over and over, until it stopped making sense of either of them, and even then Todd couldn't get enough of hearing it.

It was just a simple lunch, his feet in Chris's lap, a plate balanced on his calf, a light touch on an ankle and a kiss to a shoulder, fingers brushing, eyes meeting, that undeniable closeness that had them both beyond words.

When Todd was winning the golf cart was fast enough to get the kicked off the course, it was in sharp contrast to the grumbling and slowness of the days he was behind, those were the days they ended taking all the side treks into the rough.

He laid flat on the dock and looked up at the sky, so till ,it didn't even feel like the clouds were moving, so hot, it felt like he'd never be cold again, he felt alone, but not lonely, it wasn't until the wind picked up and arms wrapped around him, that he realized the huge difference in the two.

Though both of them we're perceived a certain way, they'd never broken vows, official or not, the chance to be together was worth more to them than that.
21. Life
Sometimes Todd spent house sitting on his deck and looked out at the crest of the hill where he'd stood with Chris and officially began a new life.
22. Jealousy
A large hand shaped bruise on his ass was all the reminder Todd needed, to know that Chris was not cool with flirting, he got that reminder every time he sat down.

Every time Chris picked him up, Todd couldn't help but marvel for a moment at the feeling of being held by arms that strong, and stroked by hands that strong, he hoped he'd never get used to it.

They'd been together for about thirty years when Todd finally figured out the secret to the tastiness of Chris's sammiches, it was so simple, and yet, he never told him, not even in the twenty that followed that.

Perhaps it was the trouble they'd both gotten into, the way they were perceived, there were a million reasons for them to dislike each other, and a million more reasons for them to find each other, to understand, to be for the other something they could never be for themselves.

The ring on his finger was a promise of always, an outward expression of the things they felt, and while they'd feel it regardless of what they wore or didn't wear, both of them knew it was more now.

He'd bleed enough himself to know it was nothing, deep down and with every ounce of common sense he had he knew it, but it didn't stop him from hopping on a plane to make sure in person.

Chris bit back a chuckle, somehow feeling so much love that his heart could burst felt out of place while Todd sat on the bathroom floor, his warm, sweaty, head resting against Chris's knees, in between bouts of throwing up, but at the same time, it just felt right.

It was always the same stupid Mariah Carey song Chris hummed as he shimmied up behind Todd, but it never failed to make his heart skip a beat… though that could be caused by Chris's hips against his ass too.

It was cheesy and it was silly, and yet they each stood at the back of their house, each comforted by the knowledge that while they couldn't do any thing more than listen to the other breathe on the phone, they both could look up at the exact same sky.

It didn't matter where they lived, or whose house they were going to, even if it was a hotel room, if the other one was there, they were going home.
32. Confusion
It took Todd a few moments to process that he wasn't in bed alone, there was no worries about a drunken night and waking up with someone he didn't know, it'd been years since that happened, but as he came out of his slumber more, he smiled, and leaned down to kiss his husbands hair, everything was clear now.

The pain that shot up his leg was so strong that he almost felt like he could cry about it, but he buried his face against Chris's next and held on so tight, he knew that even if tears came he'd have nothing to worry about.
34. Lightning/Thunder
The room lit up and they both jumped, fingers clenching together, both of them instantly awake and sitting up, as the light was followed by rumbling and growling, then more flashes, there'd be no more sleep, but they added to the display of nature they were being shown with some flashes of their own.
35. Bonds
No matter how many times he professed his innocence, Officer Pronger still kicked his legs apart, giving him a thorough search, tugging on the cuffs behind his back until it felt like his shoulders would pop, roughing him up and shoving him against the car, innocent, guilty, it didn't matter.
36. Market
Now that the season started, it felt like their time together was taken up by the big things, it was calming and perfect for them to hand and hand get a chance to stand in a store and argue about what kind of chips to buy.
37. Technology
Messages left, pictures snapped, videos emailed, quick I love you's said into their phones before a just as quick hang up, it was never enough, but when it was all they had, they treasured it.
38. Gift
No big money spent, it was a visit, it was a family picture of them and the kids at the beach, it was hang drawn pictures from his kids to Chris, but more than anything it was being together that was his favourite present.

So many people would see that big smile, just a touch of something more, something perhaps dangerous behind it and turn the other way, but Chris charged forward and grabbed him around the waist, tackling him to the ground and kissing him until it was wiped clean off Todd's face.

The date loomed large for them both, Todd knew he'd not have to do it alone, even if he was there by himself he wouldn't be alone, not really, not ever again.

Their rings touched together, making a soft noise that made them both look down, they'd talked a lot and thought a lot about what really had brought them together and could never solidly come up with a proper answer, except that they finished off the bits of each other that had been missing before.

The kids babbled about all the things they could see in the sky, puppies, trees. Mountains, a lumber jack, and Todd looked up for as long as he could, trying to see any of it, but all he could see was clouds, he caught Chris's eye as he stopped looking too and both of them shrugged, then grinned, it didn't matter what they saw.

Hand in hand they ran across the parking lot, the rain soaking them so much already they may as well have walked, neither of them letting up at all until they ducked under an awning and grinned, peeking out at the black sky, almost questioning how it could be so dark and angry when such feelings were so far from their heads, a soft kiss replaced those thoughts with much nicer ones.
44. Heaven
He didn't think about life and death much, even at his lowest worst moments when he let his mind go places he didn't want it to go and he found himself thinking about what he did and didn't deserve, he didn't think about death and what happened after, mostly he was afraid to.

He'd been wished to hell so many times, he was beginning to think of it as an alternate holiday destination, maybe the barbeque was good there?

It was hot, the sun beating down on both of them, though neither or them cared, Chris rolled over and kissed Todd harder, deeper, rocking down to him, his fingers grasping his back and pulling him harder to him, moaning and forgetting about how hot it was at all.

She was too old to climb into his lap maybe, but it didn't stop her from sitting there, her hands finding each of theirs as she began to doze off again, finally, their eyes met and they smiled, perhaps they'd had other ideas about enjoying the night but this felt right too.

The surfboard bounced a little and Todd grumbled under his breath, his little rebellion was met with a hard smack on his ass and he growled this time, but he knelt up on the board finally and Chris smirked at him, knowing he'd gotten his way again.
