Title: Sea To The Shore
Pairing: Thomas Vanek/Derek Roy (Buffalo Sabres)
Rating: G
Disclaimer: Don't own at all.
There’s nothing you enjoy better than helping him score goals. Those goals that could determine the entire outcome of the game you’re playing in – at that time; at that moment.
You enjoy seeing the look of excitement and jubilance on the older, yet smaller, man’s unshaven face. He knows you love him with stubble – even though you tell him you love him, no matter how he looks. There’s just something about that bristly feeling that makes you go absolutely crazy whenever he nuzzles his face into your neck; the slight ticklish sensation that creeps up on you when he kisses your soft skin.
His height compared to yours forces him to strain himself in order to wrap his arms around your neck. He looks into your eyes, laughs, and smiles as you feel an electric sort of surge pump through your veins. This is exactly what you live for. You thrive on seeing that smile as much as you can during a game; just to know that you are keeping him happy. Just to know that he knows how much you adore him, and how much you enjoy seeing your blue-eyed center glowing with glee. It’s not about the points or the assists when it comes to him. It’s about helping him with his career, as much as he’s helping you with yours. You’ve been known to recently go together like ‘ham and eggs’. You believe he’s the sea to your shore – just like the beach that he always speaks of. The one he always used to visit while growing up. You promised him you’d go along someday during the offseason to visit it again, so that he can relive those memories at least once more. You said you were going to go together at least six more times.
As he leans up to your ear, and whispers ‘I love every little thing you do, Thomas,’ everything else just seems to remain still. Silent. You and he are the only ones left in the entire world.
Just like the ocean crashing against the seashore in the early mornings of the summer, he is the only thing you hear – and that doesn’t bother you one bit.
