Disclaimer: Real people. Enough said
Team: Detroit Red Wings
Pairing: Chris Osgood/Nick Lidstrom

Summary: It's the day of the team pictures and someone has an unexplained bruise
Author's Notes: Because we're procrastinating. For Dee and Mer, because they were amused by this.

"What happened to your head?"

"Nothing," he muttered, ducking away from his teammate.

"A big blonde nothing?"

Chris blushed, mumbled and quickly headed away.

"Nick! What did you do?"

Nick looked over and smirked. "Why do you think it was me?"

"Come on. We know it was you."

Nick laughed. "I was there, but I didn't do anything to him."

"What happened?"

"Nick," Chris growled.

"He said it wasn't him. So, what happened?"

Chris reached for the jersey he had to wear for the picture. "It was stupid. It was nothing. Don't worry about it," he told them quickly.

The others shared a brief concerned look. "Are you sure?" Kris finally asked.

"I'm sure," Chris told them firmly and blushed again.

"If you want to talk about it..." Malts trailed off and shrugged. "You know where to find us," he then said.

Nick leaned back against the locker, holding his own jersey in his hand. "You could just tell them what happened," he suggested. "Before they think I beat you."

Oz muttered something and brushed his hands through his hair, trying to hide the bruise.

"I'm just saying," Nick said. "It's not my fault you fell out of the bed."

"You kicked me," Chris hissed and looked over his shoulder to make sure nobody overheard their conversation.

"I apologized for that, didn't I?" Nick said. "Besides, you're the one that touched me with your cold feet."

"Yeah. Let's not talk about it anymore," Chris whispered and smoothed his hands over his jersey. "Seriously, how bad does it look?"

"It's noticeable," Nick admitted. He brushed the tip of his thumb carefully against the bruise. "Sorry."

Chris sighed. "We'll just say it was a puck or something," he muttered and leaned briefly into the touch.

"You crazy goalies," Nick smiled.

"But you love me anyways," Chris grinned back.

Nick laughed and nodded. "I do," he agreed.
