Summary: When Ozzie complains Nick never tells him anything, he gets more than he bargained for.

Nick crossed his legs at the ankles, leaned back against the head board and squinted at Ozzie. The other man was sitting on the end of the other bed and pouting. He’d been grumpy all day and Nick had no idea why.

“Something wrong?”

Oz shrugged in response, making Nick groan internally and slouch down. The candles should’ve been the first clue, he thought. Ozzie always felt the need to burn something when he was angry. He rolled onto his belly and scooted to the end of his bed. He looked across at Ozzie with a grin. “Talk to me Christopher.”

The goaltender glared at him and whipped a pillow in his direction. “Don’t ever call me that again.”

Nick fended the fluffy missile off with a laugh. “Come on Oz. I know something’s bothering you.”

“Nothing is bothering me, I told you.”

“Don’t lie to me Chris. Come on, tell me. If anyone’s got a right to be mad in here it’s me.”

“You took my shoes.”

“You tied me to the bed and teased me with a piece of fruit.”

“Only because you were enjoying me hitting you too much.” Ozzie bit his lip and continued. “How come you never told me you liked that kind of stuff?”

Ah. So that was the root cause of the moodiness. Nick pressed his face into the blanket, mashing his nose. “It never came up?”

“Makes me wonder what else you might be hiding from me.”

It was getting hard to breathe like this, Nick thought. He remained in the same position, however, trying to formulate and appropriate response. “There’s things you might not want to know about me.”

“Like what?” Ozzie drifted his hand over the flame of the candle nearest to him. “You’re perfect, what could you possibly have done that you wouldn’t want anyone else to know about?”

They were drifting into a topic Nicky tried to steer clear of. Some things just weren’t meant to be shared. “I’m not perfect. That’s a ridiculous statement, nobody can be perfect.”

“You’re as close as anyone’s likely to get.” Ozzie joined his lover on the other bed.

“No I’m not,” Nick protested. “ You have no idea.”

“I would if you’d just tell me. You don’t tell me anything and yet you know all about me.”

It was true. Nick rolled onto his back and flopped an arm over his eyes. He did know more about Chris then Chris knew about him. There were some things though, that he couldn’t tell him. Not without losing him. “Do we have to talk about this now?”

“You wanted to know what was wrong.”

Damn him. Nick lifted his arm and eyeballed Chris. “We established what was wrong.”

Ozzie straddled Nick’s slim hips and bent down to kiss him. “Okay, I’ll leave it alone. Just…tell me things, okay? We’ve been together three years and I’d like to think I know at least a little bit about you.”

“That I like being tied up?” Nick raised himself up on his elbows to look at the blond goaltender. “What about you, what do you like?”

Ozzie reddened. “I don’t know,” he mumbled, plucking at Nick’s worn shirt.

“You know,” Nick said softly, bringing his hands up to brush Chris’ hair back. “Tell me, it’s okay.”

Chris shook his head, his blush deepening. Somehow telling Nick about his fetishes seemed…weird, even though he knew now that Nick wasn’t all vanilla.

“Please?” Nick cocked his head and smiled. “You know I won’t tell anyone.”

“I know you won’t.” Oz resumed his plucking for a few moments before sighing. “Fine.” He leaned down and whispered in Nick’s ear.

“Really?”

Ozzie nodded, feeling absurdly shy. “Now you know.”

Nick bit his lip. “It’s okay Chris. I don’t think it’s weird or anything, I’m sure lots of people are into that.” He pulled him back down and kissed him gently. Chris responded warmly but Nick had a feeling the younger man was still distracted by something. “What?”

“That’s one more thing you know about me,” Chris said softly. It wasn’t a competition, there’s wasn’t any reason why they had to know exactly the same number of things about each other but it unsettled him nonetheless.

Nick sighed and pushed Chris off of him. He sat up and swung his legs over the bed, pressing his forehead into the palms of his hands. Fucking nosy God damned goalies. “You want to know something about me? Here, I’ll tell you my biggest secret since you don’t know when to let something go. ”

“Nick, you don’t…” Ozzie backed away, unsure. He’d pissed Nick off and Nick could be scary when he was mad, especially with the cold, detached anger he was displaying now.

“No, you want to fucking know, I’ll tell you. In Sweden? When I was at school? You know about that.” Ozzie nodded and Nick went on. “We were in dorms there and I used to sell myself to the other boys. I let them do what they wanted with me for money. Happy now? I told you I wasn’t perfect. Now you know why.” He got up and stalked to the bathroom, slamming the door after him.

Ozzie sat there in mute shock, unable to process what he’d just heard. Nick? Not Nick, Nick wasn’t like that. His Nick wasn’t anyway. He stood and made his way to the bathroom on shaking legs. “Nicky? Don’t…” He faltered, dropping the hand he’d raised to tap on the door. What could he say? He felt bad now, for pressing Nick. That wasn’t information he’d want to share, he knew that. “Nick, I’m sorry.”

Nick leaned back against the cool white side of the bathtub. He heard Ozzie outside but made no move to get up and open the door. Why should he? So he could see the disgusted look on his lover’s face? Or would former lover be more appropriate?

Nick seized handfuls of his hair and bowed his head forward, letting his shame out in quiet sobs. He was sure Chris would want nothing to do with him now and only prayed that the goalie wouldn’t tell anyone else. Why did Chris have to keep pushing? Why did he always have to push, he could never just let it go.

Chris heard Nick’s stifled sobs and immediately tried the knob. Nick had neglected to lock it and it swung open easily. “Nick…”

He was met with a fierce glare from red-rimmed eyes. He hunkered down between the toilet and the sink and looked at his lover. “I’m sorry.”

“Forget it.”

“No, I really am Nicky. I…if I’d have known it was anything like that I would’ve left you alone.”

Nick shrugged. “What’s done is done, right?”

“Well, yeah. That doesn’t make it okay.” Ozzie slid over and put an arm around Nick, pulling him into a one-armed hug.

“You’re still touching me?” Nick peeked out from under his arm to stare at Ozzie.

“Why wouldn’t I be?” Chris lifted an eyebrow and smiled at Nick. “Doesn’t change who you are. You’re still my Nicky.”

“Didn’t think you’d still want anything to do with me after I told you…” Nick paused to collect himself. “After I told you what I used to do. “

Chris leaned back thoughtfully. He assessed his feelings quickly and responded,” I still love you. I was a little shocked; I’m still a little shocked, to be honest. You’re not the kind of person one expects that sort of news from. But it doesn't change how I feel about you.”

Nick gave him a sad smile. “I'm glad to hear that. I was scared, I'll admit that. But now you know why I'm not perfect.”

Ozzie leaned his head on Nick's shoulder. “No, you're not perfect. But you're perfect for me.”
