“No, no, dude! Dude, this way! I wanna see Will Ferrell's house!”

“Will Ferrell? Are you kidding me?” I asked of my linemate, and probably best friend since I'd gotten to Boston. “We have to get to Will Smith's house, man. C'mon, Albe. I know you're new to this whole Hollywood thing, but—”

“Fare, you've been here a million times! This is my first time.” He interrupted, and with his hands on his hips like that, I swear to god, he looked like a girl. But it was so damned cute. And, of course, it was just like Andrew Alberts to pout in a situation like that. The type of situation where I couldn't say no, even if I wanted to. “We have all day, anyway, man...we can always come back and go check Will Smith's house afterward...maybe the crowd will be lighter...”

And with that, a huge grin crossed my face. Something about that boyish grin that crossed Andy's face...it always made me smile. The guy was nothing but a giant dork. Wanted to go to see Will Ferrell's house solely because we'd just watched Blades of Glory in the hotel room the night before. I had to admit, though, that the enthusiasm that my defensive partner was exuding was nothing short of adorable. God, sometimes when he made that face...I started to feel things that I didn't think I'd feel again after Dion. And yeah, this was one of those times.

He's straight...I reminded myself sadly. And as far as he knows, so are you...I bit my lip hard, feeling a bit of a blush rising to my cheeks. Why was I blushing? I shouldn't be blushing. And even if I should, I didn't want Andy to see it. I realized all too quickly that I hadn't answered his question, and shrugged my shoulders in mock defeat. “All right, man. But I swear, you owe me one...” I smirked and scratched the back of my neck, trying to remove some of the tension from the air. I followed Andy to the trolley that went uptown, and watched, maybe a little closer than I'd intended, as he paid for both of our tickets. That was just Andrew Alberts' style, really.

On the trolley, I came to the realization that I had been in this tour about a million times. Each time I'd been to LA on a road trip, really. Some teammate or another had wanted to go tour uptown LA, rather than downtown. And most of those times, after the first one, at least, I'd been bored stiff. I'd gotten to the point that I knew where everything was before we got there. But this time, I had...something else to entertain me. I bit my lip and took a glance subtly out of the corner of my eye at Andy, I saw the absolutely enthralled look on his face. Every time the tour guide mentioned that we were passing a celebrity's house, the look on Andy's face always perked and he would practically snap his neck to look in that direction. And I think, in that second, I decided, that was my favorite thing about Andrew Alberts. How he always seemed to get so excited about things. And, god, the guy was a dork. But it was so much fun to be around him. He could turn the longest road trip into the most fun time I had ever had.

The rest of the day seemed to drag on for hours. And when we finally got back from the tour of uptown Los Angeles, Albe had practically bought an entire concession stand. A classic tourist, and yet on him, it looked so cute. I smirked as he put the room key in the door of the hotel room, and watched Albe haul all of the stuff he'd bought into the room. “Christ, man, that shit is gonna take up all the extra space we have...” I smiled up at the taller man and took a seat at the foot of my bed, shaking his head as Albe left all his items haphazardly laying on the floor in front of the door.

Once again, I couldn't help but grin at the juvenility of him. Well, he wasn't always juvenile. There were times when he'd go into these little...serious spurts. It was almost like a writer's cocoon. There was this look of concentration and confusion etched in his face and it was...really sexy. I laughed at myself. I was going to go out of my mind if I kept these thoughts going. “So, we didn't even see Will Ferrell's house. Was it worth it?” I asked him with a smirk, watching as he turned back to me and beamed a smile that would rival the sun's output of light. And I laughed.

“Dude! DID YOU SEE MICHELLE PHEIFFER'S HOUSE? Seriously, she's hot...” he chuckled lightly and took off the hat that he'd bought at the concession stand.

I tried not to frown. See? Straight as an arrow, Ference. Stop it. You're gonna drive yourself insane. Besides, who's to say you're gonna be lucky enough to have someone like that twice in your life? You had Dion, that's over...I told myself, grabbing the remote and turning the TV on. I glanced up at Albe to see what he was doing now, and...Jesus fucking Christ. What was he...changing into his pajamas? Right in front of me? Well...we did shower in the same place all the time, but...God. His back was just...toned and—oh hell, this wasn't making it easy. I bit my lip and tore my eyes from him, trying to pretend that I hadn't just popped an oversized boner while watching my teammate undress. “You need the bathroom, man?” I cleared my throat, and when Albe looked over his shoulder and shook his head 'no,' I hurried into the bathroom and locked the door behind me. Shit. What the hell was I going to do?

Well...I'd start with a cold shower, that was for damn sure...but from there? I had no fucking clue. I mentally reprimanded myself as I turned the cold water on.

It's not a silly little moment,
It's not the storm before the calm.
This is the deep and dying breath of
This love that we've been working on.
Can't seem to hold you like I want to
So I can feel you in my arms.
Nobody's gonna come and save you,
We pulled too many false alarms.

OH MY! WE HAVE NEW MEMBERS OF THE "OH SHIT ANDY FERENCE IS AWESOME" FANCLUB!!!!

I tend to believe myself as the founding member of said club, though in reality it was probably someone back in Portland. HOWEVER, I DO NOT CARE. I HAVE BEEN IN LOVE WITH HIM FOR SEVEN YEARS.

This is fuuuun, and I can't wait for more. I know all you Bruins girls are huge on the fanfic, so I was hoping my Andy would appear in a few. :)

...And I'm thinking that you Boston fans are going to love Andy as much as Calgary fans before did. And as much as I always have. *happysigh*

Eh, he wasn't terribly well known unless you followed the Pens in their 2001 playoff run, or the Flames in 2004. I've grown up a Pens fan, though, and I've followed him since his first call-up from the minors. He's just an awesome guy--he's not the most talented, but if he fucks up, it isn't because he was slacking off. When/if the B's make the playoffs--you're going to be blown away by him, because he is just so damned clutch.

I can't wait to see more from you, especially Andy. Because he's wonderful :)
