Is it sad that I'm more interested in exactly what Nicky yelled at Alex at the party than I am about the conversation between Nicky and Guerin?

No, actually. That conversation was very loaded, so it makes sense that it would carry more weight than the Guerin/Nicky one. It's not a far stretch to guess what that one implied.

I'm also interested in which touches frighten Nicky and why since he touches Alex in the end of this one and lets Alex pat his head in the last one but wouldn't let Alex grip his shoulder. One more piece to this already confusing puzzle.

It's memories and basically how despite full disclosure, Nicky can't let anyone, not even Alex get too close. Even though it's in the past, he's not dealt with the issues the situation has brought up, so any indication of anyone wanting to bring him in close will trigger alarm bells, so to speak.

Thanks on the props for writing these two. I'm new to this pairing, so I'm nervous about how to portray the Nicky/Alex dynamic, especially when it's such a dark story. I guess I wanted to show that they have a good dynamic and a good friendship that can weather hell, basically, and still keep on going strong.

As for an end...when I finally get work stuff out of the way, it could be a possibility. Thanks for reading and sorry about the uber-late reply. The net and life hate me sometimes...
